Borispol airport is the largest by traffic volume in Ukraine. It is in 35-40 km from the center of Kiev and consists of five terminals, but only two of them work: terminal D (domestic and international flights) and terminal E (cargo). The airport has a hotel, duty free zone, stores, luggage storage, free Wi-Fi. The airport code is KBP.
There are a few ways of getting from Kiev to Boryspil Airport and back – it all depends on the speed, comfort and price you want.
This is the cheapest but the longest way. From metro station “Levoberezhnaya” there is a route cab number 316, but it goes not to the airport, but to Boryspil. There you should get off at the stop Leningradskaya and take bus number 2, which goes directly to the airport. To get to Kiev, you have to do the same thing, but in reverse order.
The interval of minibus № 316 is about 7-9 minutes, the cost is 17 UAH. Timetable: 6:40 – 23:10.
The interval of bus № 2 is about 15 minutes, the cost is 3,5 grn. Timetable: 7:00 – 21:25.

You can lay out your own route here.
Easy and fast, but expensive. The fare to/from the airport will cost about 200-300 UAH. You can pre-book a car on the service Kiwi Taxi – the driver with a nameplate will be waiting for you.
The cheapest and fastest way to get from the railway station to the Kiev airport and back is to take a Skybus bus. They leave from the Southern Station and go to Terminal B and D. The fare is 50 UAH if you order a ticket through the Internet, and 60 UAH if you buy one on the spot. Buses run every 15 minutes around the clock, the travel time depends on traffic jams. At night the interval between flights is 30 minutes. Skybus is very easy to find, because they are located at the main exit and are branded.

Zhulyany airport (Kiev): how to get to and from the city
The airport was founded in 1924. Curiously enough, its official name is not at all “Zhulyany”, but “Kiev”, but people call it by its location. At the moment, its passenger traffic is much lower than in Boryspil – mainly charter flights and low-cost airlines come here. There are two terminals (A and D), and the terminal B does not handle flights. Zhulyany airport is located just 10 km from the center of Kiev, so get there easily. Working time of public transport: 6:30 – 22:30.
The airport code of Kiev is IEV. Take a route on your own here.
This is the cheapest way to get from the train station in Kiev to Zhulyany airport. The following marshrutkas run:
- № 805 (169). Landing is near the main exit of Southern Railway Station, the interval between routes is 11 minutes, the fare is 8 UAH. Travel time is 10 minutes. Get off at Volynska station and then walk 500 meters to the terminals. Running time 6:20 – 22:15.
- № 368. Landing is near the main exit of Southern Railway Station, the interval between the routes is 16 minutes, the fare is 12 UAH. The trip takes 10 minutes. Get off at Volynska station and then walk 500 meters to the terminals. The working time is 6:30 – 20:15.
From the airport to the railway station use the same transport. The stop is located on the right side of the central exit on Vozdukhoflotny Avenue, opposite the Zhulyany hotel.
Other districts of Kiev can be reached by the following shuttle buses:
- No. 565 – metro stations Shulyavskaya – Dorogozhichi – Petrovka.
- № 302 – Vyshneve – Kontraktova Ploshcha metro station.
- No. 482 – Prospect Glushkova – Dorogozhichi metro station.
- No. 496 – Lukyanivska – Teremki metro station.
- Nr. 499 – Lukyanivska – Vasilkivska – Teremki subway stations.
The ticket must be bought from the driver, which costs from 3 to 6 UAH ($6). The stop is about 50 meters from the terminal B.
Another convenient way to get from Kiev Central Railway Station to Zhulyany Airport is an electric train. Get off at the train station “Kyiv-Volynsky”. There are a lot of electric trains and they go quite often – about every 5-10 minutes.
To get to the station you have to go straight from the airport, cross Vozdukhoflotskiy avenue and go without turning anywhere – after 300 meters there will be a station.
There are two trolleybuses:
- No. 22 on the route Airport “Kiev” – Olzhicha Street (through the metro stations Shulyavskaya and Dorogozhichi). Terminus – in front of Terminal B.
- No. 9 on the route Airport “Kiev” – subway station Ploshcha Lva Tolstogo.
We do not recommend to take the trolleybus, as it’s a very long way and you will have to walk a lot from the bus stop. The fare costs about 3 UAH and you can buy it from the driver or at a special kiosk.
The most comfortable way of course is by cab. The cost from the railway station will be 60 to 100 UAH (depending on the time of the day and service), and the same from the airport to Kiev. You can book a cab in advance on the website of Kiwi Taxi – it’s convenient and safe.
Another very important nuance for those who are flying to the airport Zhulyany. After Wizzair moved there, the passenger traffic has increased significantly. Sometimes the queues get to the point where people have to stand in the street waiting to check in. I hope this little piece of information will be helpful and help you better plan your trip.
