Naturally, different options and perspectives were considered. There isn’t one that overlaps Fineira’s offerings with a normal connection for those dates.

Even dialing in segments 10 euros cheaper would require an overnight stay.

softblood wrote (a) 15 Feb 2019, 00:38: So how much does it cost on average for such dog-sled trips compared to full-service companies with luggage and some kind of feeding?

I’m considering such options at two to three times the price difference.

True, they appear as a rule the day before or a couple of days, but against this background, with a backpack is quite realistic to do all the movement to Madeira and back for 100 euros from St. Petersburg)).

Here I agree that for Spb cheaper charter from Helsinki is difficult to find another option. Usually you can buy cheap charter in about 2 weeks, but you have to have a subscription to the necessary flights. I did it twice for 50-60 euros for a week.

I signed up on my country’s TUI page, on the Finnish one I think it’s similar. Piratez etc also check and publish, but obviously it will be faster yourself.

softblood wrote (a) February 15, 2019, 01:20: How much on average to get from Kiev to Madeira in money, rubles, grivnas, euros, using the budget, charters, etc., if the spring, summer, not late fall and without trampling for 12 or more hours at airports and transit overnight stays?

To your question:

1. We would fly to Madeira only in winter.

2. From Ukraine there are no direct flights to Madeira, so a priori, in any case, you have to fly with at least one connection, which I do.

3 It does not matter for me what airline I fly with – low-cost, charter or, as you put it, “full service”. Any one of them can have a normal price from time to time. The main thing that met three criteria: – no more than one transfer – I do not want to fly for the space price – a normal connection.

4. 4. What is a normal connection for me: – It is when I arrive to the connecting city in the morning, walk around in the afternoon, and in the evening fly to the destination; – Or if the connecting city is new and interesting to me, I stay there for 1-3 nights, walk, get acquainted with the city, and then fly to the destination. Both of these options I love. – Docking for only a few hours and not at night.

5. And now specifically about the cost and conditions of our two flights from Kiev to Madeira.

Flight one. December 2016. Dates from 10.12.16 to 22.12.16. Kiev – Amsterdam – Funchal – Amsterdam – Kiev = 256.50 euro/person. Departure from Kiev in the morning by KLM. We arrive in Schiphol, leave things in the luggage room. The train for a miserable time we get to Amsterdam, 6 hours of it with pleasure Huguem (I love Amsterdam). Then the same day we fly to Madeira with TAP and in the evening the same day we’re already in Madeira. Back the same way. In the morning we took off from Funchal, in the afternoon we had a walk in Amsterdam, and in the evening the same day we are in Kiev.

The second flight. For New Year 2019. Dates from 28.12.18 to 14.01.19. Kiev – Hanover – Funchal – Hanover – Kiev = 255 euro/person. (Could be for 160 euro/person – the price then further dropped) Departure the morning of 28.12.18 from Kiev. Two nights in Hannover. I bought so consciously and deliberately, because after reading here on the forum report about Hanover decorated for Christmas and New Year, I wanted to stay there for a few days. 13.01.19 departure from Madeira, one night in Hanover, and the next evening 14.01.19 we are in Kiev.

For you “dog sledding”?! And from my point of view, it’s a great, not expensive, not exhausting one-way flight from which I got just what I wanted.

How to get from Moscow to Madeira

There are no direct scheduled flights from Russian cities to the island of Madeira (Funchal).

As a rule, the best option to fly from Moscow to Madeira is to fly on Air Berlin with a connection in Berlin. Tickets cost from 22-25 thousand rubles. During Air Berlin promotions, tickets can be even a little cheaper. An example from Aviasails:

Moscow Funchal Tickets

Sometimes it’s cheaper to fly on joint Air Berlin and British Airways flights, but then another connection is added (in London) – you can save about 1-2 thousand rubles, but it’s hardly worth it.

The tickets to Funchal from Moscow for TAP Portugal flights usually cost around 30-35 thousand rubles (about 500 euros), but from time to time the airline conducts special offers, in which case the tickets may cost less. TAP Portugal flies to Madeira through Lisbon, but sometimes a cheaper option is a combined flight: by Lufthansa from Moscow to Munich, then by TAP Portugal from Munich to Lisbon, and from there to Madeira, the return flight with a connection in Lisbon.

EasyJet flies from London (Gatwick) to Madeira from March to mid-October, there are flights from Moscow to London all year round. Tickets for all flights from Moscow to Funchal usually cost from 350 euro (23 thousand rubles), but if you are lucky with the discount you can get cheaper. Take into account that you will have to pay for the luggage with EasyJet. So it`s not always convenient to use the official EasyJet website – besides it you can use Aviasails search. The best price for tickets to Madeira from St. Petersburg is usually on Lufthansa + TAP Portugal flights via Frankfurt am Main or Munich and Lisbon. Tickets for these flights may cost 26-28 thousand rubles (about 420 euros), which is not cheap, and from the two planes do not go anywhere. So St. Petersburgers have a much easier way to get to Madeira – on low-cost flights from the Baltic States or Helsinki, which can be easily and cheaply reached by bus. More about that below.

Tickets to Madeira from Yekaterinburg, Kaliningrad, Rostov-on-Don and other Russian cities are much more expensive – from 35-40 thousand rubles.

Lowcosters from Helsinki

The cheapest way to get from Helsinki to Madeira is two ways: via Copenhagen on Norwegian flights or via London (first on Norwegian, then on Monarch Airways). For all flights you would pay about 300 euros (about 19 thousand rubles). If desired, the way to the island of Madeira is possible by other ways with the capture of a larger number of cities: for example, from Helsinki to Nice by Norwegian, and then from Nice to Lisbon and from Lisbon to Funchal on EasyJet.

This option will probably be suitable only for the inhabitants of St. Petersburg and the North-West, because the savings compared with flights from Moscow is minimal.
