How to get from Phuket Airport to your hotel and beaches
For those traveling to Phuket on their own, this article offers information on how to get from Phuket Airport to your hotel, beaches and town.
The easiest and, in my opinion, the most logical way (especially after a long flight) to get from Phuket airport to the hotel is to take a cab. Don’t worry if you arrive at night – cabs are available 24 hours a day! There are several types of cabs at Phuket Airport:
Pre-paid cabs (i.e. pre-paid cabs).
Any tour operator, in either the International or Domestic terminals at Phuket airport will offer you a pre-paid cab to the hotel/beach you want. You just pay the full amount of the trip, you get a receipt with the number of the car, go to the parking lot, look for a car with the specified number and drive to the place you need.
A cab from Phuket airport to:
- Patong Beach – 800 baht – 1000 baht – 1000 baht – 1000 baht – 1000 baht – 700 baht – 700 baht – 750 baht – 1000 baht – 1000 baht
- to Phuket Town – 650 baht
- to Kathu – 700 baht
You can also take a cab outside Phuket:
- Phuket airport – Khao Lak cab cost ~ 2,000 baht
- Cab Phuket airport – Ao Nang (Krabi) ~ 3000 baht
- cab Phuket airport – Khao Sok ~ 4500 baht

- 50 baht for the first two kilometers
- Next 2-15 kilometers, 12 baht per kilometer.

Payment upon payment.

Toun-taxi and Grab-taxi
There’s no Uber at Phuket, but you can hail a Grab-taxi – just install the app on your phone!
Also I recommend installing the application Toun – it’s an analogue of Uber with Russian drivers. How to use: download the app, enter the code 1TRZAT, choose where and when to go, you can order a cab in advance for a certain date and time.
By shuttle service
You can get from Phuket Airport to your hotel with a pre-booked shuttle service. Simply book a transfer through the Russian speaking Kiwitaxi.ru website, pay by card and upon arrival you will be met with a sign at Phuket Airport. The driver will help you and your baggage to the car and take you to your chosen hotel in Phuket.
By rental car
Traveling from Phuket Airport can be by rental car or bike.
You can rent a car in advance on this website or at the airport (if there are vacant cars).
Rent a bike at Phuket airport is not possible, but it can be done at the nearest beach If you are young and active, came to Phuket without luggage, you can leave the airport and walk to “tourist civilization” to the beach Nai Yang (by the way, from this beach is clearly visible as the landing and taking off planes, but still, that would make a photo under the plane is better to go to the beach May Kao, which is on the other side of the airport ) and rent a bike at any travel agency.
There are many tour agencies at Phuket Airport where you can take a cab, buy a transfer, rent a car

Buses depart from the airport from 6am to 9pm every hour. Approximate travel time from terminus to terminus (i.e. from airport to Rawai) is one and a half to two hours.

How to get from Phuket airport to the beaches?
Although most tourists use group transfers, solo travelers need to know how to get from Phuket airport to Patong , Karon, Kata and other popular beaches.
Collected in this post all the useful information about transfers from Phuket airport to the beaches of the island and to the nearest provinces and towns.
The airport is very active, has two terminals (domestic and international) and receives flights from many not only neighboring but also far away countries. It is located in the northwest of the island, away from the main town of Phuket Town and popular beaches.
First of all, I would like to point out that it is quite easy to get to Patong, Karon and Kata – great demand breeds supply and competition.
If you have chosen a less popular Kamala, Surin, Bang Tao, Nai Harn and others, you have to spend more money or time and effort. Let’s go in order.
Bus from Phuket airport
A special bus connects the airport and the provincial capital – Phuket Town. From the main town you can take a local transport to the beaches – this is the most budget way.
It is a large orange bus with air conditioning and comfortable seats inside, and it runs on a schedule.
Bus to Phuket Airport
Bus schedule from Phuket Airport to town: 08:00, 09:00, 10:00, 11:30, 12:30, 13:30, 15:00, 16:00,17:00, 18:30, 19:30, 20:30.
The schedule in the opposite direction: 06:00, 07:00, 08:00, 09:30, 10:30, 11:30, 13:00, 14:30, 15:30, 16:30, 17:30, 18:30.
Unfortunately, buses can be late (big traffic jams in Phuket Town), so take extra when you go to your flight! Nominal travel time is 1 hour and 20 minutes, but it can be longer.
Cost: 100 baht to town, 70 baht to the Heroes Monument. You can buy it right on the bus.
How to find? Departs from the arrivals hall of the domestic terminal, so if you fly into the international one, you have to walk five minutes. This is also where the bus arrives on the way back.
In Phuket Town, the airport bus arrives at the old bus terminal in the center of town, and from there it’s a short walk to the sunteo station for the beaches.
There are also minibuses at Phuket Town for 150 baht, direct from the international terminal. They run from 05:30 to 22:00 every hour, so feel free to use them if you don’t want to wait for a bus.

How to get from Phuket airport to Patong?
Patong is the most popular and bustling beach in Phuket and there are several ways to get here from the airport.
There are special air-conditioned minibuses to the beach. The cost of the train is 180 baht. Departures are from 05:30 to 22:00 every hour. This is the most convenient and inexpensive way to get to Patong from the airport.
This option, just in case, because it’s not very convenient. You take a bus to Phuket Town (mentioned above) and get to the old bus station for 100 baht. From here you take a suntote to Patong for 50 baht. The problem is that you have to walk 1 km to the ring from the old bus station or to take a taxi/tuk-tuk.
Songteo goes slowly, so the total time from the airport to the beach is 2.5-3 hours. In addition, the Songteo only runs until 16:00-16:30, you won’t get there in the evening.
Cab from Phuket Airport to Patong
The flat rate for limo cabs to Patong at the international terminal is 800 baht. It would be cheaper to find a taxi-meter stand and order from them. There are also cabs with meters at the domestic terminal.
You can also order a cab in advance online and be picked up with a sign.
How to get from Phuket airport to Karon?
Similar to Patong, there are vans from Phuket Airport to Karon, but at a price of 200 Baht. The best way to get to Karon inexpensive. It takes about an hour and a half to get there, and leaves every hour from 05:30 to 22:00.
The counter where they sell tickets for the minibus.
The algorithm is the same as for Patong. At the songteo station in town, take a truck to Karon for 40 baht.
Total travel time from the airport is about 3 hours.
Phuket Airport Taxi to Karon
The cost of a cab to Karon from the airport – 1000 baht, you will find the stands at the exit of the international terminal arrival area.
How do I get from Phuket Airport to Karon?
Minibus from the airport to Kata Beach costs 200 Baht, you can buy a ticket at the counters at the exit of the arrival area. Departures are from 05:30 to 22:00 every hour.
Alternatively, you can transfer to Phuket Town. The price is 100+40=140 baht, but it’s a long and inconvenient trip.
Cab from the airport to Kata Beach
The fixed price for a limo service to Kata is 1000 baht, read about how to find a cab with a meter below.
Phuket Airport Taxi
If you have chosen Kamala, Surin, Bang Tao, Nai Harn or other beaches as your holiday destination, then it is most convenient to get to them by cab.
Yes, you can try to change the route in Phuket Town and then take a Songteo (not all beaches), but it will take a lot of time and effort. This option I would advise only for solo travelers.
If you arrive late at night, there is only one option – cab.
At the airport there are two types of cabs:
The first is the so-called fixed-price limousine service, where you pay before you go at the counter at the airport.
Prices for limo cabs from Phuket airport to the beaches are as follows:
Phuket Town and Rassada Pier (where you can sail to Phi Phi and other islands) 650 Baht, Patong 800 Baht, Karon, Kata, Rawai, Nai Harn 900 Baht, Bang Tao 700 Baht, Surin 700 Baht, Kamala 750 Baht.
Metered Taxi counter
The second is a cab with a meter or taxi-meter, it is more advantageous to use it. Look for the taxi-meter stand on the right side of the arrival hall.
For example, a cab from the airport to Patong costs 750 baht (include airport charge 100 baht plus the meter price).
Airport Taxi to Krabi, Ao Nang, Khao Lak
You can get a cab from the airport to Khao Lak, Ao Nang, Krabi, Khao Sok, and Surat Thani, or to the Donsak Pier (for the ferries to Koh Samui and Phangan).
You can book a transfer at the desks at the airport, as well as online at 12goasia.com.
That’s all, have a good trip!
