Federico Fellini International Airport (Italian: Aeroporto Internazionale Federico Fellini; IATA: RMI, ICAO: LIPR), formerly Rimini Miramare International Airport, is now located in Miramare, near Rimini. It was named after the Italian film director Federico Fellini in 1993. Nowadays the airport serves not only Rimini, but also the neighboring state of San Marino.
The following services are available at the airport: ATMs, currency exchange, luggage wrapping, cafes, vending machines, luggage carts, car rentals. Not available at the moment – luggage storage.

A few ways on how to get from Federico Fellini Airport to Rimini city center cheap
There are several ways to get from Rimini Airport to the city center. The basic one is the bus, the not the most convenient one is the train, the not the most budget one is the cab, and finally the last one is a rented car.
Rimini Railway Station
Why is it not advisable to take the train from Rimini Airport to the city center? The reason is that the nearest train station, Rimini Miramare, is 1.2 km from the airport and you will have to walk to get there. If you are not going from Rimini Airport to the city center, but to other Italian cities, then taking the train Treinitalia is a great way to continue your journey.
The ticket price for a regional electric train is only 1.5 euros.

Travel time: about 7 minutes.
Between the central train station in Rimini and the airport there is a bus number 9 every 15 minutes. The schedule is as follows:
- From the train station in Rimini to the airport: Mon-Fri from 05:55 to 22:35, Sundays and holidays from 06:35 to 22:35.
- From the airport to the railway station of Rimini: Mon-Fri from 05:55 to 23:15, Sundays and holidays from 06:28 to 23:15.

The bus stop is situated on the left from the airport exit.
The fare: 1.5 euros. Ticket must be stamped on the bus.
Travel time is about 15 minutes.
It is very convenient to get from the airport to Rimini by cab. Although this is not the most profitable way, it is still the most comfortable, especially when you have a lot of suitcases, strollers, children or ski equipment. In addition, many people may have difficulty not knowing Italian/English, and orientation in a new place.
By car from the airport
You can rent a car directly at Rimini Airport. All major international car rental companies are represented here: Hertz, Avis, Budget, etc., as well as Italian car rental companies T-rent, SicilybyCar. The car rentals are located along the corridor (on the right side) leading to the exit of Rimini airport.

By Car to Rimini Airport
If you are going from the south to the airport, follow the sign EXIT A14 Riccione, then continue on the SS16 towards Rimini. If coming from the north, follow EXIT A14 Rimini Sud, then continue on the SS16 towards Riccione.
Parking at the airport
If you arrive at the airport in a rented car, you must leave the car in a special parking lot. Follow the signs for Car rent or look for a sign with the name of your rental company.
Also remember to fill the car up to a full tank before you return it. The address of the gas station near the airport is Via Flaminia, 327, 47924 Rimini RN, Italy.
How to get to the airport in San Marino
Undoubtedly San Marino is very popular among tourists vacationing in Italy. Its amazing location, its medieval towers and the view from Monte Titano mountain are attractive attractions, definitely worth a visit.
Since San Marino does not have a separate airport, tourists use the Federico Fellini airport in Miramare. There are several ways to get to or from San Marino from the airport.
You can rent a car at the airport. The most convenient, but not the most economical way.

Rimini Airport: How to get there
Rimini International Airport (Aeroporto Internazionale Federico Fellini) is named after the famous Federico Fellini. The airport is located in Miramare, about 8 km from Rimini.
When you arrive, the first thing that catches your eye at the airport are posters and images from the films of the great director. It is immediately clear: you have arrived in Fellini’s homeland.

You can get to the city by bus, train, cab or pre-book an individual transfer. Most travelers prefer the bus or shuttle, as the train station is not close.

The Start Romagna Linea 9 city bus runs from the airport to Rimini. The stop is to the left of the terminal exit. The travel time is about 15 minutes.
The bus from the airport leaves approximately every 30 minutes from 5.29 am to 11.17 pm. In the opposite direction from the train station Rimini FS runs from 5.55 am to 10.35 pm.
In the destination city it stops at Rimini Centro Studi, Caserma “Giulio Cesare”, Arco d’Augusto, Piazzale Gramsci gg. Mercato, Rimini FS Railway Station, Piazzale Vannoni, Rimini Cimitero.
The ticket costs about 1.30 euros and is valid for 60 minutes. The ticket can be purchased at ticket offices or from vending machines at the airport, as well as from the driver. When buying from the driver, the ticket costs more.

The nearest railway station to the airport is Rimini Miramare, 1.2 km away. From this station take the Regionalale train to Rimini station in about 6 minutes. Trains run about every half hour from 7:19 am to 9:57 pm.
